From the

Diary as of 8/22 – 8/26/08

Tonight (8/22) there are 5 pigeons on the board – where the heck is Joey? it is raining and I hope she’s found a nice dry place to spend the night….

On the 25th Emma has laid another egg. I took it away and filled it with oil – closed the little hole with superglue. This idea seemed to be very good at first but then the warmth of Emma’s body somehow made the glue become sticky although it was only a tiny spot and the egg got stuck on Emma’s belly feathers.  When she left the nest the egg hung between her legs. It looked so funny that I couldn’t help laughing. At the same time I was terribly worried that something bad would happen to her. She flew away with the egg between her legs. Half an hour later she came back, the egg was gone and I could see that she was perfectly okay. Hm – I wonder whether someone got a pigeon egg on his head while walking beneath Emma flying around…

Oh boy – I am so glad that nothing happened to her…

Tonight was a bad night – all 6 were sleeping on the board again but in the middle of the night Joey began to vandalize and making terror. She started to fight with Willy – so I had to make this an end and shooed her away. She flew off into the darkness. Next day she came back as if nothing had happened…very strange but who knows what’s going on in these little crazy bird brains?
