Pigeon Babies soon grown up…

I am really sorry for not posting earlier but I had so much to do. But the diary is not lost. I kept it for myself manually with some keywords. Now I am writing this up piece by piece. There is so much to tell….

Diary from 5/4/08

I think there is a very limited time now where I can enjoy seeing pigeons growing up. It is sad on one side because to watch these little buggers growing up was a great joy and sooo funny sometimes. On the other hand I know they are doing very well and they soon will have everything a pigeon needs in life – wings to fly, a good eye for food, an alert system and y very watchful eye.

Although both buggers are picking like crazy already for a couple of days – today I observed that they are picking up food such as oats, corn, rice, lentils, sunflower seeds (which they both love best) and actually eat it. Sometimes I think they are both some chickens instead of pigeon babies with their scratching all day long. So they already know what’s good for them – great feeling!

The parents still continue to feed them – apparently they get some green food as well – such as grass or plant parts – I don’t know – but their droppings become very green then and this obviously does not come from eating seeds only. But I am not sure about this.

See how their luxury nest looks like….

And this is Joey cleaning up, being very busy as you can see…

  2. Thank you Michiko280!
I am glad that there are at least a few people who do not hate pigeons and would see them rather dead.
You would not believe what we have experienced since that couple decided to make our balcony their home. Btw – the whole family is still together and each day we could tell another story about them…
