Big progress: can you believe it – you can see my future wings!!! My quills are growing like crazy – even on my back and it is itching – geez. It must be similar when little human babies get their teeth. Yuck – it’s itching!!!!

and this is my Daddy with his wonderful feathers:

  1. Gosh, I envy your pictures. Your nest seems so much more accessible than the one on my balcony – I have to hover above it or squeeze myself in a corner to snap photos.
It’s very cool to see someone else’s progress pictures. 🙂

  2. Lol Aydin – they have a real luxury nest which is actually one of my huge flowerpots. And it is open. So I can clean off all the sh… they are producing and have a real clean house! Which other pigeon can top that?
Yeah – it’s really cool to see the progress of your Frankie too! 😀

  3. Wow, lucky pigeons! Frankie’s nest is in a corner of the balcony behind a big flowerpot and some junk, and only leaving about 8 inches of space to peek through from the side, lol.
I want to clean it up but I don’t want to mess with or around the nest while they still have a baby to raise, since they probably picked the spot because it’s nicely sheltered. 🙂

  4. I think if you are careful you can clean it up when the parents are not there. Pigeons are “tough people” and they can adjust to nearly everything. Also it helps to keep them healthy and it does not stink. I have watched the parents in the first week making not a single poop on the “nest” – not even on the balcony as if they wanted to keep it clean. Funny isn’t it? In the meanwhile there is quite a lot of poop from the little ones but they try to do it always towards the corner of the pot not inside. So it’s also easier for me to clean it.

I checked the babies a couple of times (took them on my hand) already whether they are really healthy and they are in best shape 😀 .
Both startet to crawl already through the nest and try to stand on their feet for a short time…
